Getting my first book published has been an absolute dream come true. It was a long road for a short story, but one that my mom and I are very proud of. I knew that I liked the story, because I wrote it of course. I knew my mom liked the story, because she illustrated it of course. The true test though would be the little ones that Hitchin' Post would be read to or that would be reading it. They are the ones that would have to be interested. They are the ones that I wanted to grab the attention from and want them to fall in love with my character. Since this is only the beginning, I'm still not sure how this group of important little fans are going to like old Hitch, but I do know of one that does. What a good feeling I had knowing that the story could stick in her head like that! Peighton has been one of my biggest supporters. She knows all about this book and now wants everyone to have it. She is beyond excited that her teachers at school have one. I hope that it will continue to be a hit with little ones like her!
